Yes! This is an event for runners and walkers of all abilities. Please note: all participants must complete the half marathon within the 5 hour course time limit. Course support will close at 2pm CST.

Runners can pick up their packets at these locations:

Yes, you can pick up a packet for someone else if you have their name, age and which race your friend will be running.
Although we love furry friends, we ask that your four-legged running companion stay home due to safety reasons.
Jogging strollers will be allowed, however, we ask that those runners pushing a jogging stroller line up at the back of the pack as a courtesy for fellow participants.
You must be 12 years old prior to or on race day to participate in the half marathon. There is no age limit to the 10K and 5K.
All finishers of the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K will receive a finisher medal. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in each male and female age division in the half marathon, 10K and 5K.

We rely heavily on volunteers to make this event run in true Texas style. We need hundreds of volunteers to work Packet Pickup, staff the aid stations and to offer support to the runners and walkers at the start and finish. There is not a separate wheelchair division. If you are a wheelchair athlete, please contact results@iruntexas.net for more information.

Yes, there will be a monitored place for you to leave a bag.

Due to liability issues, no transfers of entries and bibs are allowed without contacting race organizers at shinerbeerrun@gmail.com Each case will be considered on an individual basis.
You may wear your headphones, iPODS or MP3 players, however, we ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants. You need to still be able to hear participants, volunteers and officials in close proximity to you.
Spectators and supporters can enjoy a tour of the brewery, live music and food and beverages. Passes are available for purchase at the information booth on race day.
The race will go on as scheduled - rain or shine, sleet or snow. Only in the event of severe weather conditions will we cancel the race (no refunds due to weather). We will not postpone the race due to inclement weather. Please check your weather forecast prior to race day and plan accordingly.
Raceresult timing systems will be used to record participant times at the start and finish. The Raceresult bib tags will be secured to the back of your bib. Do not remove it or you will not receive an official time for awards.
